Born with an innate curiosity for the unexplored and unexpected, Pierre-André Ovigne embarked on a unique path that intertwined his passion for wines, languages, and travel. After completing high school, his thirst for knowledge led him to the city of lights, Paris, where he delved into the rich tapestry of Slavic languages. There, he mastered Slovenian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Croatian, culminating in a Master's degree in European Studies and Translation in 2009.

His academic pursuits didn't just gift him linguistic skills but also opportunities. He traveled extensively across Europe, immersing himself in diverse cultures, learning not just their languages but their ways of life. Yet, amidst the myriad of experiences, one constant remained – his unwavering love for wine. A legacy passed down through his family, each journey also became a voyage of vinous discovery. Vineyards spread across different terrains whispered tales of their region, and Pierre-André listened with an eager heart, tasting wines that spoke of their native soils.

13 years ago, Pierre-André channeled his linguistic prowess into a career as a translator. This choice, while being professionally fulfilling, also offered the gift of freedom – the liberty to roam the world, to be where he wishes, whenever he desires.

In 2020, amidst the silence of the pandemic, his growing fervor for wine echoed louder. He took it as a sign and embarked on another educational sojourn, earning his WSET 2 and 3 certifications. The following year, he challenged himself further with the WSET 4. His journey into the world of wines saw him develop a particular fondness for the Spanish terroir, leading him to attain the Spanish Wine Scholar certification in 2022. Yet, being a true French at heart, he also sought to deepen his knowledge of his homeland's wines, undertaking the French Wine Scholar the very same year.

Today, Pierre-André’s heart is split between two beautiful lands. France, his homeland, and Taiwan, the homeland of his beloved spouse since 2017. A tapestry of experiences, languages, and wines defines his journey, and the road ahead promises even more fascinating tales.
