Terre degli Svevi Re Manfredi is a wine producer based in the foothills of Mount Vulture in the Basilicata wine region of southern Italy.
Serpara is the cru of the house and comes from Aglianico grapes cultivated in a 6-ha vineyard site, Serpara, in the commune of Maschito, which translates as the "place of the serpents". The vineyard is situated on volcanic slopes 550m above sea level.
Vinification & Maturation: Grapes are hand harvested, carefully sorted and macerated on the skins for 15-20 days. Fermentation with natural yeasts and aging in French Allier oak barriques for 18-24 months.

100% Aglianico, 14.5% ABV.
【👀To the eye】
Deep ruby with hints of garnet.
【👃Nose】
Pronounced aromas of black cherry, sour cherry, plum, dried plum, blackberry, mulberry, blackcurrant, blossoms, dried herbs, vanilla, black tea, tobacco, and earth.
【👅Palate】
Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, a lot of black fruits, warm / oriental spices and oak notes on the palate. A long spicy finish. High acidity, full body, high tannin, high alcohol. Mouthfeel is very dense, full-bodied with powerful tannins counterbalanced and a high acidity, wine expresses very concentrated aromas. Impressive!
【🍷 Conclusion】
Bold, coarse and structured wine as you would expect from the Aglianico del Vulture DOCG, the incredible concentration of flavors, a perfect balance and a silky texture just makes it an exquisite wine.
