本週好消息，我第一次就通過了 D3（世界葡萄酒）考試，D3 測驗被認為是 WSET 4 中最難的部分。 我不否認這對我來說是一個巨大的解脫，因為我為了它非常非常努力地學習和複習。D3課本頁數多達將近 600 頁，包含關於許多葡萄酒產區的大量信息。此外，還必須能夠運用 D1（葡萄栽培和釀酒）和 D2（葡萄酒商業）課程中的知識。其中我發現假如可將 D1 融會貫通的話，它將幫助您更輕鬆地通過考試！
品酒部分而言，我強烈建議您嘗試盡可能多量、來自不同品種和不同品質、世界各地的葡萄酒，最重要的是您充分了解 WSET 期望您得出的結論類型（質量評估和陳年潛力）。 要做到這幾點，接著需要一遍又一遍地練習，直到它變得熟悉。
現在我等 10 月份的 D6（研究論文）結果，然後我將完成 WSET 4 之旅！與此同時，為了慶祝 D3 考試的成功，我喝了美味的波美侯😌
I received the good news this week that I have passed my D3 exam (the wines of the world), considered to be the most difficult of the Diploma (WSET 4), at the first attempt. I won’t deny it’s a huge relief, because I studied really hard for it. The manual is about 600 pages long and contains literally tons of information about many wine regions. You also have to be able to mobilise the knowledge from the D1 (viticulture and winemaking) and D2 (wine business) courses. I cannot stress enough the importance of having the D1 at your fingertips, it will help you pass the exam more easily.
As far as the tasting is concerned, I strongly recommend that you try as many wines as possible, from different varietals and different qualities, and above all that you fully understand the type of conclusion (quality assessment and ageing potential) that the WSET expects you to produce. You really need to use the expected answer structure. To do this, you will need to practice over and over again until it becomes automatic, because even if you can’t guess the grape variety or the region of origin of the wine, it is possible to score a lot of points just by respecting the answer structure.
Now I’m just waiting for the result of my D6 (research paper) in October. Then I’ll be done with WSET 4 but in the meantime to celebrate the success of the exam, a glass of Pomerol as a wink as there was indeed a Pomerol at the tasting.
