【📝Brief intro】

🇮🇹 Exquisite monovarietal of Negroamaro I bought from my good friend Romano, his cellar and restaurant in Paris 13eme @pastaebastaparigi ! The Cantine San Marzano estate @sanmarzanowines is based in the village of San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in the region of Manduria, the heart of Puglia. It lies halfway between the towns Taranto and Bari, in the heel of the boot. The Cantine was founded in 1962 by 19 families of winegrowers and over the years has become one of the most modern and important in the region. 1,200 people work there today.

Vinification & Maturation: Grapes come from the oldest vineyards of the cooperative and are harvested the last week of September manually and then transported to the winery in small baskets. The maceration lasted 43 days. Then the wine ferments with native yeast at controlled temperature (24-26°C). The aging takes place in French and Caucasian oak barrels for twelve months.

100% Negroamaro, 14.5% ABV.

Deep purple.

【👃Nose】

Pronounced aromas of ripe plum, blueberry, blackberry, cassis, jammy cherry, dried herbs (thyme), mild spices, chocolate, and tobacco.

【👅Palate】

Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, plenty of jammy / very ripe black fruits and forest berries aromas combined with spices and oak notes of tobacco and chocolate. High alcohol, medium acidity, medium tannin, full body.

Mouthfeel is wide, sweet and warm, with a powerful structure, velvety / smooth texture, bright acidity and well-integrated tannins, concentrated aromas of fruits and oak ending in a long rich and persistent finish. Really impressive and perfectly balanced.

【🍷 Conclusion】

Amazing Negroamaro, powerful, full-bodied, rich, dense, tasty, a bit sweet, really enjoyable and another excellent value for money.
