【📝Brief intro】

🇪🇸 The grapes come from different plots located in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa wine regions. The vines are located between 400 and 700 meters above sea level. The terroir is different from one plot to another. Some are rich in clay, limestone and alluvial soils (Rioja Alavesa) and others have only clay-limestone soils (Rioja Alta). The average age of the vines is 70 years.

Vinification & Maturation: The grapes were harvested by hand, Only the ripest of them were selected and stored for two days at a temperature between 5 - 6 °C to increase their concentration. Once this ripening step was completed, they were gently pressed and then fermented for 10-12 days at a controlled temperature. The maceration then lasted another 30 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in new French oak barrels, with regular stirring, for two full months. It was then that the wine was aged for 15 months, also in new French oak barrels. After that, he waited 24 more months in bottles before the cellar master gave his marketing approval.

Deep ruby.

【👃Nose】

Pronounced aromas of black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, black plum, mint, dried herbs, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, tobacco, cedar, leather, earth, and forest floor.

【👅Palate】

Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, primary aromas of black fruits and spices, secondary aromas from oak, and some tertiary aromas from aging. Dry, high-alcohol, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannin, full-body.

The wine displays an incredible complexity and concentration, tannins are ripe and smooth, acidity is fresh, the mouth is round and rich, the wine feels really structured and ends in a long mineral finish. Amazing!

【🍷 Conclusion】

Fantastic Rioja, incredibly balanced, complex, smooth and powerful, an explosion of flavors, and spectacular. Should age very well.
