【👃嗅覺香氣】
具有明顯清晰且令人著迷的成熟李子、黑醋栗、黑櫻桃、紅櫻桃、乾燥香草、黑胡椒、青椒、黑橄欖、皮革、煙草、雪茄盒和巧克力香氣。
【👅味覺品嘗】
明顯的香氣與鼻子相似。 香料、香草和黑色水果的尾韻非常長。 中等偏高的酸度、高酒精度、中等單寧、酒體飽滿。

【📝Brief intro】
🇦🇷 3 exquisite wines 🇦🇷 PART 2/3 crafted by Fernando Dupont Winery in Jujuy, Argentina (Located in northern Salta). I had the chance to discover those wines thanks to Patricio Dupont, the nephew of Fernando who is the owner of the business Vinos de Altura in France which promotes several estates from Jujuy along with his uncle’s of course.
The Dupont estate is located in the Quebrada de Humahuaca area (UNESCO World Heritage 2013), 2,500 meters above sea level and is one of the highest estates in the world, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes made of mountains, cactus and rocks. Close to the Bolivia border, the area would be too hot to make wines (at ground level), altitude making viticulture possible (as the temperature falls by approximately 0.6° every 100 m increase).
Second wine: Pasacana 2016 (IG Quebrada de Humahuaca, Jujuy, Argentina)
Maturation: 18 months in new Bordeaux oak barrels and 6 months in bottle.
【🍇Grapes & ABV】
80% Malbec, 10% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15.8% ABV.
【👀To the eye】
Deep purple.
【👃Nose】
Incredible and pronounced with aromas of ripe plum, blackcurrant, black cherry, red cherry, dried herbs, black pepper, green pepper, black olive, leather, tobacco, cigar box, and chocolate.
【👅Palate】
Pronounced aromas similar to the nose. A super long finish on the spices, herbs and black fruits. Medium+ acidity, High alcohol, medium tannin, full body.
It’s very powerful but perfectly under control, very round in the mouth with integrated tannin, the long oak maturation brings a lot of complexity and really gives a spicy character but doesn’t overwhelm the fruit (which proves the quality of the grapes used), you can feel some vegetal / green notes and animal elements towards the end. Everything is balanced and you don’t even feel the almost 16% alcohol. Really impressive overall.
【🍷 Conclusion】
The ambassador of Jujuy, one of the best Argentinian Malbecs to me. A real trip to the high mountains of Argentina. A wine for the gauchos! I think it can only improve with bottle ageing.
