【📝Brief intro】

🇪🇸 This wine is produced by the Pintia winery, belonging to the very famous wine group Tempos Vega Sicilia.

Pintia is the project launched by David Álvarez and his son Pablo in the years 1995 and 1996. They decided to buy old plots along the Duero river in the Toro appellation in the moors of San Román de Hornija, in Valladolid. This region is made up of rocky soils formed by deposits from the Duero River.

Pintia is a monovarietal wine made from the Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) grape from plots with an average age of 40 years, harvested manually. The harvest is transported in boxes of 12 kilos. In the cellar, it is stored in a cold room for 12 hours in order to preserve the fruit intensity of the grapes.

Vinification & Maturation: After a careful selection of grapes, the grapes are cold macerated in oak vats for 5 days and then undergo malolactic fermentation in wooden vats. 70% of the wine obtained is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, and the remaining 30% in American oak barrels + 24 months in bottles.

Pronounced aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, black plum, violets, mild spices, earth, vanilla, toast, cedar, smoke, and tobacco. So complex and mesmerizing!

【👅Palate】

Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, intense and complex flavors of black fruits with perfect integrated oak aromas, ending in a very long and mineral and spicy finish. High alcohol, full body, medium tannin, medium acidity.

Mouthfeel is incredibly a very round full body with ripe tannins, creamy/velvety texture, the right level of acidity, a perfect balance between elegance and power, the concentration and complexity of aromas are just incredible. Fantastic.

【🍷 Conclusion】

Simply one of the best Toro I’ve ever tried, with incredible complexity, and a perfect mix of elegance, structure and power. A very nice treat!
