【📝Brief intro】
🇺🇸 Scheid Family Wines was founded in 1972 by Al Scheid and today owns five unique labels: District 7, Scheid Vineyards, Metz Road, VDR and Stokes ’Ghost. In all, the Scheid family (Al, Scott, Heidi and Tyler) own 1,600 hectares in the Salinas Valley.
The grapes come from the “District 7” located in Monterey County which has the longest growing season of any district, thanks to the cool sea breeze from Monterey Bay that blows daily over the Salinas Valley. This works well with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, which prefer low temperatures. Thanks to the long vegetative period, the grapes ripen very slowly, which guarantees complex and well-structured wines.
Vinification & Maturation: The harvest takes place early in the morning, then the berries are transported directly to the cellar and ferment in stainless steel vats. Then, the aging for several months took place in oak barrels before bottling.

100% Chardonnay, 13.5% ABV.

Yellow-gold.
【👃Nose】
Pronounced aromas of yuzu, red and green apple, pear, peach, pineapple, vanilla, butterscotch, honey, and toast.
【👅Palate】
Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, pleasant fresh fruits (stone, green and tropical) aromas and well-integrated oak notes dominated by vanilla and butterscotch. Dry, medium alcohol, light+ body, medium+ acidity. Good balance between fruit and oak, with a creamy and round mouthfeel, a crisp acidity, and a saline structure ending in a medium+ finish.
【🍷 Conclusion】
Superb Chardonnay from Monterey, perfectly balanced, with moderate oak and fresh fruits, vibrant, accessible, elegant, with some minerality to it. Wonderful wine at a very good price point.
