【📝Brief intro】
🇪🇸 Fantastic Rioja, so tasty. The Bodegas Muga estate @bodegasmuga is located in the historic Barrio de la Estación (train station area) of the town of Haro, in the heart of the famous Rioja wine region halfway between Logroño and Bilbao. The 200-year-old farm facilities are mostly built of stone and oak.
Oak plays a key role in the cellar: there are 14,000 barrels of different kinds mainly from France (Allier, Tronçais and Jupilles), but also from America, Hungary, Russia, and a small part comes from Spain. The vines are flanked on the foothills of the Obarenes mountains, in the heart of Rioja Alta.
The weather conditions are quite specific: the vineyard is located at the confluence of the Mediterranean, Atlantic and continental climates, an ideal location for viticulture.
The region is dotted with small plots characterized by a clay-limestone terroir and all unique in their kind.
Vinification & Maturation: The harvest was carried out by hand with a very careful selection of the very best grapes at the winery. After fermentation in large wooden vats (40% in new French oak barrels and 60% in second-use barrels), the wine was aged for 26 months in barrels then 12 additional months in bottles before being put on sale.

Deep ruby with hints of garnet.
【👃Nose】
Pronounced aromas of blackberry, blueberry, plum, red berries note, dried herbs, black pepper, earth, clove, chocolate, coffee, smoke, toast, caramel and vanilla. Yummy!
【👅Palate】
Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, aromas of black fruits combined with hints of red fruits, complex and intense spices and oak notes (predominance of coffee, pepper, toast and smoke). High alcohol, medium+ tannins, medium acidity, full body.
Mouthfeel is powerful and intense, with firm tannin, smooth texture, a good acidity, an elegant structure, very complex and intense aromas, and incredible balance between fruit and oak ending in a long mineral finish.

Amazing Rioja, just incredible feeling overall, complex, intense, elegant, noble, perfectly balanced, a must try!
