Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru Monopole 2018,
Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru Les Cazetiers 2018,
Nuits Saint Georges Premier Cru Aux Chaignots 2016,
Mercurey Premier Cru Le Clos du Roy “La Fovorite” 2014,
Ladoix Les Marnes Blanches 2020, Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018.
Clos des Cortons Grand Cru

【📝Brief intro】
🇫🇷 Superb visit of the Domaine Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges. I want to thank Sophie, our guide, for her welcome, knowledge and passion.
Domaine Faiveley is a family-run estate founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley, a native of Nuits-St.-Georges. The Domaine Faiveley owns 125 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy which makes it one of Burgundy's largest vineyard owners. They own quite a lot of Grand Cru vineyards in Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Chablis.
Today, the estate is run by Erwan Faiveley, the 7th generation, who took over in 2005 as president, with his sister Eve who joined him in 2014. The estate was recently renovated, in 2018, and the result is absolutely magnificent, the cellars are superb with incredible lighting, the new winery is impressive, very bright, with a large bay window, and looks like a station hall.
⭐After the visit, we had the chance to try few of their wines, including:
Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru Monopole 2018,
Gevrey Chambertin Premier Cru Les Cazetiers 2018,
Nuits Saint Georges Premier Cru Aux Chaignots 2016,
Mercurey Premier Cru Le Clos du Roy “La Fovorite” 2014,
Ladoix Les Marnes Blanches 2020, Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018.
The wines were all delicious, The Bienvenues Bâtard-Montrachet was really out of this world, with aromas of acacia, honeysuckle, ripe pear, peach, lemon confit, toast, biscuit, a beautiful minerality, and incredible length! Magical.
The Clos des Cortons Grand Cru shows a huge potential, a huge concentration of red fruits, cherry burlat, blueberry, blackcurrant leaf, ripe tannins, medium body with incredible balance and length.
By the way, I highly recommend the Ladoix as it is a really great value for money (around 25 € a bottle).
