【📝Brief intro】

🇪🇸 Alvaro Palacios is today one of Spain's most famous oenologists. His work in Priorat, Rioja and Bierzo.

Álvaro did not settle in the most famous part of the region, the Rioja Alta. He launched his project further east, in the heart of eastern Rioja. Since it is closer to the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains are lower, the summers are warmer there. This heat and the rather heavy alluvial soils make it ideal for the Garnacha (Grenache) grape, which ripens late and loves hot conditions.

The hillside plots of the Álvaro estate, Palacios Remondo, are located on the slopes of the Sierra Yerga. The wind refreshes the significant heat there and, thus grapes retain a delicious freshness. Blend of Garnacha (95%) supplemented by traditional grape varieties such as Tempranillo for example.

Vinification & Maturation: The vines thrive not far from the Sierra Yerga, on clay-limestone soils. The organically produced grapes are harvested by hand, ferment in stainless steel vats and aged for 12 months in barrels.

Medium to deep ruby.

【👃Nose】

Pronounced aromas of ripe fruit, including mulberry, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, hints of fresh mint, dried herbs (thyme), chocolate, mild spices, vanilla and liquorice.

【👅Palate】

Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, the palate is ripe fruit driven with discrete and pleasant oak notes. High alcohol, medium acidity, low+ tannin, medium body. Mouthfeel is soft, delicate and velvety with little and light tannins and a medium body, the texture is velvety, the palate feels very fresh with a pleasant mineral structure, overall, perfectly balanced and ending in a long spicy fruity finish.

【🍷 Conclusion】

Really delicious, subtle, tasty and fruity, more delicate than powerful, a very nice wine overall, a good value for money.
