【📝Brief intro】
🇪🇸 A beautiful visit to the wine tasting room of the Bodegas Ontañón in Logroño including a visit to their museum. Bodegas Ontañón was established in 1984 by a local family, the Perez Cuevas, who has grown vines and owned vineyards for many years. They are from Quel in Rioja Oriental and have vineyards in all parts of the Rioja (around 300 ha).
Jesús took care of the tasting and we had an absolutely fabulous time, he took the time to explain to us the history of the winery, the winemaking process, how they try to mix tradition and modernity, and we were able to taste the classic wines of the estate.
Jesús let us try some special wines made from single plots grapes around Quel in Rioja Oriental which were absolutely fabulous, like Queiron Mi lugar (Tempranillo / Garnacha) and Queiron de Gabriel (Tempranillo / Graciano). Overall, the wines were all very good! The place is really beautiful and the small museum is very pleasant to walk through. We had a really nice time with my wife. Highly recommended.
