【📝Brief intro】

🇪🇸 Another exquisite Garnacha from Aragon.

I really love the DO campo de Borja which provides incredible Garnachas for a reasonable price.

The top Garnacha from Coto de Hayas. The wine is made from 40-50 years old vines, planted at an altitude of 400-500m, around the villages of Fuendejalón and Magallón with low yields.

Fermentation: Must undergo a maceration in contact with the skin, a fermentation at 28 degrees.

Maturation: 8-9 months in French oak barrel.

【🍇Grapes & ABV】

100% Garnacha, 14.5% ABV.

【👀To the eye】

Medium ruby.

【👃Nose】

Pronounced aromas of ripe red plum, red cherry, red berries, vanilla, cedar, spices like cinnamon, hint of earth, coffee, smoke and chocolate. It smells a bit like a Christmas cake.

【👅Palate】

Pronounced aromas similar to the nose with a long finish on the vanilla and the spices and a sweet aftertaste. Medium tannin, Medium+ acidity, high alcohol, full body.

The mouth feels very round, warm, with smooth tannin, a good acidity, jammy fruits combined with a lot of oak “crianza” influences which give a lot of body and spicy notes to the wine. Very pleasant to drink.

【🍷 Conclusion】

A terrific wine, so powerful, fleshy, juicy and spicy. I think it will improve with a few years ageing in the bottle but still very pleasant to drink now. Another must try.
