【📝Brief intro】
🇿🇦 Superb Chenin blanc, a great value for money! the estate 'De Zalze' @kleinezalze was founded in 1683 by a German: his name was Nicholas Cleef. As we can read in documents from this period, this reckless winegrower once planted 7,000 vines. Later, the house was bought by famous South African families (Colyn, Krige, Du Toit or De Waal) before an international merchant acquired it in 1968. 30 years later, Kobus Basson and Rolf Schutz become owners of the estate and offer high-quality wines.
Vinification & Maturation: The grapes come from different plots of the estate located in Stellenbosch. They were harvested by hand and then meticulously destemmed. After 24 hours in contact with the skin of the berries, only the resulting juice was used. Fermentation takes place in barrels and amphorae. Then, the cuvée is aged and rests for seven months on fine lees.

100% Chenin Blanc, 13% ABV.

Pale gold.
【👃Nose】
Pronounced aromas of lemon, pear, melon, peach, apricot, hints of tropical fruits and mild spices, honey.
【👅Palate】
Pronounced aromas similar to the nose, on the palate plenty of citrus and stone fruits with some tropical fruits like guava and litchi, butter, cream and hints of spices due to the oak aging. Medium body, Medium alcohol, Medium+ acidity. Mouthfeel is very fresh and dry with a creamy texture and a crisp acidity. A long mineral and silky finish. Very pleasant to drink.

So delicious, fresh, crispy, dry, and creamy with perfect balance between fruits and oak! I love it!
