【📝概述】

🇪🇸 這次我們在西班牙的第四回酒莊拜訪是位於上里奧哈地區 Haro 的美妙而具標誌性的 López de Heredia Viña Tondonia 莊園。Haro 有許多著名的釀酒廠,也是世界上最多百年釀酒廠的集中地。

【📝Brief intro】

🇪🇸 Our 4th visit was to the wonderful and iconic López de Heredia Viña Tondonia located in the village of Haro in the Rioja Alta region and home to many other famous wineries which are all neighbors in the barrio de la estación (station district) where actually the largest number of centenary wineries in the world are concentrated.

The creation of the estate dates back to the middle of the nineteenth century when French negociants visited the Rioja region to find alternative sources of quality grapes to transform into wine since the phylloxera epidemic had decimated their vineyards. Don Rafael López de Heredia seized the opportunity and founded his own family estate in 1877, the oldest of Haro.

The visit I have to say was really amazing, unfortunately, I can't show you any pictures because the estate has expressly asked us not to show the inside of their facilities on social networks, all I can say is that they are absolutely gorgeous with incredible underground galleries and their own cooperage where they make and repair their barrels!!!

Although the estate is large and famous, it remains in the hands of the same family which perpetuates the tradition established by Don Rafael in the 19th century, namely respect for nature and the vine with the minimum possible intervention and a selection of the very best grapes, the use of barrels made on-site for fermentation (some of which are extremely old), the use of indigenous yeasts, very little intervention during the vinification. Our guide Luis shared his knowledge and passion with us. We had the pleasure to taste two of their most famous wines, Viña Bosconia and Viña Tondonia Reserva.
