【📝Brief intro】
🇫🇷 Me and my wife have been very busy lately and I have not had time to post the rest of our little trip to Burgundy. Tonight I have a little time, so I show you some photos of our passage to Aloxe Corton, a must-see village for any lover of Burgundy wines.
⭐We went to Corton André Château first, the building is just superb, and they have a cellar where it is possible to degust wines for free. We tried several wines including:
Monthélie 1er Cru Les Champs Fulliots 2016,
Aloxe Corton 1er Cru Les Paulands 2017,
Mersault Les Narveaux 2018,
Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2015,
Auxey Duresses 1er Cru Le Val 2015.
The wines were absolutely wonderful with a special mention for:
⭐Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2015, with incredible texture and complexity in the mouth with aromas of vanilla, butter, cream, butterscotch, peach, apricot, baked apple
⭐Mersault Les Narveaux 2018 which was quite different from what is expected of a Mersault with citrus, green apple, wet stone, salt, a hint of cream and butter, incredible minerality and length, a must-try.
After that, we stopped in a few tasting cellars, including that of Robert Gautier, the uncle of a friend of mine) who produces less than 1000 bottles per year! his Aloxe Corton and his Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru are excellent value for money (I bought myself a few bottles to bring back home).
